In honor of this country's recent horror-thon of Decision 2010, The Son of Madblood is now holding our own Horror Elections. Did you forget to vote last Tuesday? Did you vote only to see your hopes dashed as a tidal wave of red flooded across the country? Well kids, here's your chance to ease the guilt or wipe away the tears: The Son of Madblood Horror Election Poll 2010 is here - a second chance to vote and everyone's a winner! Who are the candidates? YOU decide. Who picks the winners? MAJORITY RULES! How does it work? Better than the new scan-your-own ballots we had to deal with at the polls...
Yes, The Son of Madblood wants to know what YOU like! Just send us a list of your favorite Horror Movies - simple as that! Even simpler than that: send as many or few titles as you like - trying, at least, to keep your list as close to 20 or under as you can. Some may find limiting themselves to 20 to be a task in itself (The Son of Madblood sure did - and you can see the results of that task HERE in his own Nominations). Others of you might feel coming up with 20 titles to be a bit of work. We say: "Work - schmerk!" Just do what you like, what you feel comfortable with - if you want to write something about your choices - feel free! If not - still feel free! Freedom's just another word... The ball is in your court.. So SHOOT, already! (As in: shoot your list on over to us at: thesonofmadblood@gmail.com ) Don't tarry!
And - to make it even easier on you, even simpler than simpler than that: the order your list is in DOESN'T MATTER! We'll give Brain the task of compiling the Nominations and tallying the results. Every movie on every list is a winner! They'll all be ranked according to how many Nominations they get from each list sent in. Get your Nominations in by Thanksgiving and we'll put the results up here on the Mad-blog for all to see or ignore as per usual. And we'll be doing something special with it all come the Next Episode of The Son of Madblood (tentatively scheduled for Saturday November 27th as our Post-Thanksgiving Celebration Show). And you never know - one of YOUR Nominations may just end up being our featured movie on the Next Episode.. or the Next Episode after that or the Next Episode after that.. ad infinitum.. ad nauseum...

So - get involved, kids.. It's your duty in this new era of The Son of Madblood! It'll be like we're all working together...it'll be, like.. INSPIRATIONAL... The Son of Madblood feels inspiration in the air and perspiration in the armpit! In fact, this whole idea for The Son of Madblood Horror Election Poll 2010 was inspired by (or just plain ripped-off from) The Son of Madblood's personal favorite internet read: that wizard of a wordsmith, Stacie Ponder of Final Girl fame and her own SHOCKtober 2010 Countdown!
Vigilant readers of these Son of Madblood missives may have heard mention before of her in these pages and most certainly will, again because... well.. because... you know... you know...Ok, ok, OK, already! The days of being subtle have gone the way of the days of wine and roses - The Son of Madblood is back on the bottle and can, finally, drunkenly admit his complete and utter smitteness with Final Girl! No - he's not smitten with her utters! Just.. just.. read her and see for yourself. Read her and weep! The Son of Madblood does everyday and well into the night. Both the reading and the weeping. She's like the father he never knew (yes, that great man of Science, Madblood Sr.) or the Girlfriend he never had... never had... never, ever had... a Girlfriend... ever...
The Son of Madblood - ever the putz and always lagging behind the times - didn't get it together to participate in the Final Girl SHOCKtober round-up so we've decided to do our own, albeit a much smaller version for this rinky-dink operation of ours. After all - just look: 1 "Follower", we've got. Just 1! The Loneliest Number! It'll never do! C'mon, kids - we're reaching out to YOU, to all fans of The Son of Madblood, to all future fans, to all BFFs - it's TLA time! So get your lists IN! Vote while the votin's good!
